ABSTRACT

Introduction. Prematurity is the leading cause of newborn deaths and the second leading cause of death worldwide. Professional nursing practice is characterized by a moral commitment to patient advocacy. In this respect, training plays an indispensable role in ensuring optimal quality of patient care by developing competencies that enhance the ability to make appropriate decisions, fulfill various tasks an responsibilities, and personalize the care process. Simulation-Based Training - SimNewB, Advanced training in neonatal resuscitation. The nurse must know how to deal with different situations with skill, ability, scientificity and proximity to the patient's needs. Training in simulation is a methodology that has the primary objective of improving the quality and effectiveness of clinical care. SimNewB is useful to learn how to perform the correct techniques, improve simulation training, encourage teamwork. Through a realistic reproduction of the anatomy of its airways, accurate clinical feedback and wireless design, SimNewB contributes to the achievement of the skills necessary to manage compromised infants. Conclusion. Following the evolution of Sars-Cov2 (COVID-19) there has been repercussions in the organization of trainings;to contain the transmission of the virus it was allowed to carry out training face to face activities maintaining a 1/1 ratio (tutor-learner). All face-to-face training with a ratio greater than 1 to 1 has been cancelled. According to the norms, the 1/1 ratio was maintained during training in simulation. Theoretical part, briefing and debriefing took place remotely in call conference. The teaching method was supported through video training.
